Subcommittee on Korean Studies E-Resources

Dear All,

I am pleased to announce that the Committee on Korean Materials (CKM) has appointed a Subcommittee on Korean Studies E-Resources.

As many of you are well aware, Task Force on Korean E-Resources has played a great role in negotiating a group price deal for fast growing Korean E-Resources on behalf of participating institutions in North America. The CKM feels strongly that a subcommittee should be formally established with clear guidelines and charges to continue to carry out the TF’s tasks. Here’re details on the Subcommittee;

1.      Name: Subcommittee on Korean Studies E-Resources

2.      Members:
Mikyung Kang (mlkang@fas.harvard.edu), Harvard University
Miree Ku (miree.ku@duke.edu), Duke University - Chair
Sun-Yoon Lee (sunyoonl@usc.edu), USC
Hee-Sook Shin (hs2148@columbia.edu), Columbia University

3.      Term of service: February 2012 – March 2014 (2 years)

I’d like to express my gratitude to the Subcommittee members who are willing to volunteer their time and efforts. Please contact the Subcommittee members if you have any questions on Korean E-Resources. Thank you.

Regards,

Yunah

2012 CEAL Fellowship Dinner Information

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am pleased to announce that 2012 CEAL Fellowship Dinner will be held at Mandarin restaurant in uptown Toronto on Wednesday, March 14, 7:00-9:00 pm, 2012. Mandarin is located at 2200 Yonge Street (phone number: 416-486-2222), about six subway stops away from Sheraton Hotel downtown. The restaurant is right above the Eglinton subway station for your convenience. It may take 20-30 minutes by taxi depending on traffic.
Buffet will be served at the restaurant, with a variety of food selection, including many vegetarian choices. The cost of the dinner is $33 per person (either Canadian or US dollar). There are bigger and small tables in the area we reserved for the event to give us certain flexibilities.
All the CEAL members are more than welcome to join the gathering.  Please complete the reservation form (as attached) and  mail it with your check or credit card information to Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library (The deadline for reservation is February 20, 2012):
