We are pleased to let you know that the Directory has been
updated and is now available at the National Institute of Japanese Literature
(NIJL) website:
Below please find the announcement in Japanese on the availability of the Direcotory at the NIJL website by Prof. Jun Suzuki. We would like to join Prof. Suzuki to express our sincere appreciation for all the support each of you provided to join this project.
Please notice that the Japanese page is available by clicking
"日本語ページ"
link in the menu bar right beneath the Directory name. We hope that the
Directory will gradually include more information in Japanese also.
At this point, we would like to ask each of you to review
your institution's entry in the NIJL website, and let Prof.
Osamu Furuse of NIJL (email: furuse@nijl.ac.jp) and
Toshie Marra (email: tmarra@library.ucla.edu) know as soon as possible
of any changes that should be made to update the
directory. If possible at all, we encourage you to provide the

ディレクトリ公開のお知らせ
このたび人間文化研究機構 国文学研究資料館では、北米日本古典籍所蔵機関ディレクトリの公開に向けた準備が整いましたので、二〇一一年一二月下旬を目途に当館のウェブサイトから発信することになりました。ご承知のように、本ディレクトリは、北米を中心とする、日本の古典籍やその他の文化資料を所蔵する大学図書館、美術館などの機関について、コレクションの概要やコンタクト方法などの情報を集約したものです。本ディレクトリの公開によって、今後、各所蔵機関の日本資料コレクションが日本及び世界各国の研究者、学生などによって、さらに有効活用されることが期待されます。
現段階では、英語表記が基本で、日本語は不十分ですが、情報のリニューアルとともに、言語表記の面も追々充実を図って行きたいと思います。また、北米以外では、欧州の参加機関が少数参加しているに過ぎませんが、これも徐々に拡大していければと願っています。どうか今後ともご協力のほど、お願い申し上げます。
最後に、本ディレクトリの公開が、もっぱらこれまで長い間、作成に携わって来られた、東アジア図書館協議会(CEAL)の日本資料委員会の元に組織された日本古典籍小委員会の皆様のご尽力と、各所蔵機関のご協力の賜物であること、またシステムについては、当館の事業部が担当させていただきましたことをお断りし、関係各位には、この場を借りて厚く御礼申し上げます。

2012 CEAL Membership Renewal Notice
Dear All,
I am writing to remind you to renew your 2012 CEAL membership as the election is approaching. Please renew your membership as soon as possible if you have not done so. The cut-off date for a valid membership is Feb.1, 2012. All renewals received after the cut-off date will not be able to get an election ballot.

Only CEAL members are eligible to vote on CEAL issues, run for elected offices, or be nominated for appointed positions. To be a CEAL member, you must:
1. ...be a current member of AAS (Current AAS members may login at the AAS website, here)
AND
2. ...be current in your annual $30 CEAL membership dues (You may check your membership status by searching the CEAL Directory. Or, email CEAL Treasurer Ai-lin Yang about the status of your account.)
Joining CEAL is a 2-step process:
